Reality is; there are several hundred million guns in circulation in the US now. AR's are the most popular long gun, I believe. Without gun confiscation, you won't make a dent in those numbers, even if you banned new sales starting today. Also not going to happen.

About 2/3's of gun deaths are suicides. A mental health problem that isn't being addressed. Japan, with a high suicide rate and extremely low gun ownership rate, a ban really, shows truly suidcidal people just change to another tool if they're serious.

The true "mass shootings", not the daily and weekly inner city crime stuff. I'm talking kids shooting up a school or mall. Those are also mental health 100%. Those as a strictly numbers issue are also not near the top, as terrible as they are.

Then the other mass shootings and daily shootings. That's a cultural and crime prevention issue that isn't being addressed in any sort of meaningful way. In fact, it's slowly getting worse.

None of these proposals in your show address this in a realistic way.

Not sure what the accidental death rate is but I don't think it's a high percentage.

The criminal and gang shootings are the real preventable problem that could be most easily fixed or lowered and would make fewer people feel (and the least trained, casual ownertype) the need to even own a gun.
